Can One Inflatable Pillow Improve my Flight Experience

Airlines are seemingly making the flyers experience more and more uncomfortable. Unless you are willing to pay thousands of dollars to fly first class. I am sorry but the majority of the world cannot afford that. Therefore, in order to try to make my experience SLIGHTLY better I decided to buy an airplane pillow.

I have never understood how those neck pillows are comfortable and they sell them at every airport I have ever been too. They just do not help me. I noticed that when I am on flights I am trying to lean forward to nap or want to lean on my sides, which sucks because I am always the unlikely one who gets the middle seat. Therefore, the pillow I need I want to be able to sit in my lap but I can comfortably rest my head, my arms, etc.,

This pillow I got on a whim for a very long trip changed the game for me.

Product Analysis:

What I love:

This allows me to put my head down on the tray table and/or lean on my side between the seats. Plus, when my head is in the pillow and your hands can also be in there. So, you can put your phone in there or anything you want. This gives you a little more privacy but also allows you to protect your belongings while you nap.

When I am leaning on the window, I like that my arm can be in the pillow as it makes me more comfortable rather than having to “fold” my shoulder to adjust to the pillow.

What should be considered:

This pillow did have a plastic-y smell for a while. This has mostly gone away now. That being said, I believe when you open it for the first time, it does instruct you to let it air out a bit.

Additionally, after a while, it does deflate a bit. I cannot tell if it is because I do not put the plug on correctly? That being said, I can very easily re-inflate this again. I think it usually only take four breathes to inflate from deflated.

One thing that I didn’t think about or consider when I purchased this pillow was that when I am flying alone, I feel a little silly pulling this pillow out and inflating it. No-one has ever seemed to care and never said anything to me about it. I have never noticed anyone else ever using one of these on a flight, which is why it likely feels funny or embarrassing. Rest easy, once you inflate the pillow and put your head it in, you can’t see anyone, and you are more comfortable than you were otherwise, so you don’t care.

Other:

This is very lightweight and fits easily in my carry-on. I can easily inflate and deflate it. After, you put it back away in the travel bag that they have given you.

Worth the price? YES, truly this is a bit pricey for a pillow (in my opinion) but this has been great for my ability to sleep more on a flight and given me more privacy.

This is the front and where you rest your head. Because of the opening you can still wear your glasses or anything on your face.

This is the side angle view of the pillow. You can see the openings for your arms.

This is everything include in the package as well as the pillow deflated. The ear plugs are the orange thing in the plastic case. The eye mask is nice and cushioned.
